Paul Ross is an experienced public company CFO with the financial expertise required to meaningfully contribute to the growth of a pre-IPO or public company, specifically by chairing or serving on the Audit Committee or Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors.

In addition to his broad-based business acumen, Paul’s expertise in the areas of finance, audit, Sarbanes-Oxley, IPOs, human resources, real estate, and executive and equity compensation plans make him uniquely qualified to provide leadership in these areas and be a valuable resource for management and the Board. Paul understands the importance of corporate culture to building performing and sustainable teams, thereby increasing productivity and the likelihood of achieving goals. He believes contribution, collaboration and EQ are the key drivers to achieving results.

Paul is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Sharethrough, Inc., and VideoAmp, Inc., where he also serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.

As the first CFO of The Trade Desk, Inc. (TTD), Paul rapidly prepared the Company for its IPO while helping grow TTD’s revenue more than 20x over five years. Paul and the TTD leadership team created more than $20 billion in market valuation over the same period as the company transitioned from being a private enterprise to a profitable, NASDAQ listed company. During that time, Paul negotiated and closed approximately $500 million in debt financings, a $60 million share buyback/tender offer, managed a complex cap table and designed/implemented equity compensation plans, all while building the corporate infrastructure teams (accounting/finance, treasury, tax, HR, legal, IT, real estate) from scratch in advance of the IPO. After leading the highly successful IPO, Paul spent several additional years continuing to grow TTD before retiring from the office of the CFO to focus on investing in and advising other companies.

Earlier in his career, Paul held several CFO roles in technology or related industries, including for other publicly-traded companies. His experience at these companies included extensive capital raising and M&A activity. Two CFO positions were distressed situations around the 2008-2009 recession, where Paul and new management teams turned around the companies and rescued the existing shareholders from closure or bankruptcy. Prior to these CFO roles, Paul held progressive positions at Power-One, Inc., ARCO (now BP) and PWC.

Paul holds an MBA from the University of Southern California, a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and a CPA certification earned while at PWC. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Chapman University’s Argyros School of Business and Economics MBA program. Paul currently resides with his family in Southern California.
